Behind the Scenes at Middleport Pottery

Through the magic of a 360 camera, I’m able to capture behind-the-scenes content on my wedding days to show my current and future couples exactly what it would like for them to have me along at their Middleport Pottery wedding day

All of these videos and more are captured in the most subtle way making sure to not disrupt the wedding day at all. I feel the connection between a couple and their photographer is a really important factor hence why I wanted to show this part of my work as well. I’m not like every wedding photographer and showing you these behind-the-scenes videos from Middleport hopefully helps me to reinforce that statement.

If you are still looking at wedding photographers’ websites and have come to Adam’s website, look no further, you’ve found your photographer!

From our initial meeting with Adam right the way through to our wedding he was approachable, helpful and always happy to offer advice when we weren’t sure about things. We initially met over Zoom and after spending 2 hours chatting we knew he was the best person for the job. Closer to the wedding he came over to our house and we discussed the photos we wanted and the logistics of the day

We couldn’t be more pleased with our photographs, they completely encapsulated the joy of the day.

The History of Middleport Pottery

Middleport Pottery is loved and cherished by the locals in Stoke-on-Trent. It really is one of the long-remaining roots of the city.

Built in 1888, Middleport Pottery is located right on the Trent and Mersey Canal. This spot was chosen for its prime location, making it super easy to transport goods to major ports like Liverpool and Manchester. The design of the pottery was ahead of its time, with a linear layout that made production processes highly efficient and improved working conditions for the staff.

One of the coolest things about Middleport Pottery is that it’s the last working Victorian potbank in continuous production. That means it’s still churning out world-famous Burleigh pottery right where it all started over 130 years ago. The buildings themselves are protected for their historic interest, and they’ve got this awesome Grade II*-listed status.

Middleport Pottery has had its ups and downs, but it’s always managed to bounce back and keep going strong.

Middleport Pottery Weddings

In recent years, Middleport Pottery has branched into the wedding industry. It is quite amazing that couples can host their big day surrounded by the pure history and charm of Stoke-on-Trent. For that reason, Middleport Pottery weddings are particularly popular with proud locals.

Your Middleport Pottery wedding kicks off with the most enchanting ceremony which can be held in one of the indoor rooms, like the signature Burgess Room, which houses original moulds from the Burleigh factory. Or, if you prefer an outdoor setting, the canal-side spots offer stunning backdrop for your vows.

After the ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks and canapés in the atmospheric alleyways or the Packing House Café. The reception is held in one of the spacious rooms, like the Regal Peacock Room, which is bathed in natural light and filled with Burleigh pottery pieces.

What makes Middleport Pottery weddings truly special is the seamless blend of historical charm and contemporary style. The venue retains its rustic elegance, while modern amenities ensure everything goes off without a hitch. It’s a place where memories are made, and your love story can unfold in the most enchanting way.

If you’re sold on the venue and are now looking for an experienced Middleport Pottery wedding photographer to capture your day in all its glory, look no further. I consider myself a laid-back wedding photographer with a knack for capturing the magic.

I’ve shot many weddings here, and I know all the best spots to get those unforgettable shots – from the rustic interiors to the scenic canal-side views. Something which only comes with experience. I also have a great relationship with the venue’s team which means they trust me to crack on and get the job done (without cracking any pots in the process!)

What sets me apart from other Middleport Pottery wedding photographers? I’d say it’s candid shots that truly reflect the vibe of your special day. Each couple and wedding day are totally unique, so I always take the time to get to know my clients and ensure that I deliver exactly what they are looking for.

So, if you’re looking for a Middleport Pottery wedding photographer who knows the place inside out and can deliver stunning, authentic photos, I’m your guy.
