Nestled on the edge of Nantwich this beautiful stately home turned wedding venue, hotel and spa is definitely a great place for any wedding day. I’ve been photographing at Rookery for as long as I’ve been doing weddings and every time I get to return to this beautiful estate I have a fantastic day.
Planning your special day at Rookery Hall?
Rookery Hall is such a beautiful place which I have photographed so many times. I love returning time and time again so why not drop me message and find out a little more?Behind the Scenes at Rookery Hall
Through the magic of a 360 camera, I’m able to capture behind-the-scenes content on my wedding days to show my current and future couples exactly what it would like for them to have me along at their Rookery Hall wedding day
All of these videos and more are captured in the most subtle way making sure to not disrupt the wedding day at all. I feel the connection between a couple and their photographer is a really important factor hence why I wanted to show this part of my work as well. I’m not like every wedding photographer and showing you these behind-the-scenes videos from Rookery hopefully helps me to reinforce that statement.

From our initial meeting with Adam right the way through to our wedding he was approachable, helpful and always happy to offer advice when we weren’t sure about things. We initially met over Zoom and after spending 2 hours chatting we knew he was the best person for the job. Closer to the wedding he came over to our house and we discussed the photos we wanted and the logistics of the day
We couldn’t be more pleased with our photographs, they completely encapsulated the joy of the day.

The History of Rookery Hall
Built-in 1816, this Georgian-style mansion was originally known as “The Rookery, Worleston.” The first owner was William Hilton Cooke, a wealthy landowner who also had a Jamaican sugar plantation. Talk about a diverse portfolio!
In 1867, the Rookery Hall estate was purchased by Baron William Henry von Schröder, a merchant banker and son of the founder of Schroders. He transformed the house into an Elizabethan-style chateau around 1900, adding a unique character to the building. Rookery Hall changed hands a few more times, with each owner leaving their mark on the property.
By the mid-20th century, the Rookery Hall Hotel and Restaurant was created, and the estate continued to evolve over the years. In 2001, Julia Hands, a former city lawyer, took over Rookery Hall and added a conference centre and health club, making it part of the Hand Picked Hotels Group.
The potential on offer at Rookery Hall naturally led the venue to the wedding industry and for many years now the Rookery Hall wedding venue has been an extremely popular choice for engaged couples. The rich history and a blend of architectural styles are what makes Rookery Hall so incredibly unique and charming, along with the 38 acres of parkland by the River Weaver, including gardens, woodland, and a small lake.
Rookery Hall Weddings
If I had to pick one word to describe a Rookery Hall wedding it would be ‘luxurious’. From the moment you embark on the sweeping driveway, this place impresses. The beautiful architecture within the venue, complete with grand staircases and intricate details, sets the scene for a truly magical wedding day.
Thanks to the dedicated team on hand, Rookery Hall weddings are organised and executed to a tee making it perfect for those who prefer a more formal and structured wedding day.
After both the bride and Groom’s wedding party have completed their ‘glam’, a typical wedding at Rookery Hall starts with a stunning ceremony which can be held in one of the indoor rooms or outside in the picturesque gardens, giving you plenty of options to match your vibe.
After the ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks and canapés outdoors, soaking in the stunning views of the grounds. The reception starts in the elegant ballroom with some delicious food. The catering on offer at Rookery Hall weddings definitely needs a special mention. The team work closely with you to ensure that they deliver whatever type of cuisine you would like, offering totally bespoke menus which is such a luxury.
Following the feast, you can boogie your bottoms off with friends and family on the spacious dance floor before heading to your impressive suit for a glorious night’s sleep. There are plenty of rooms available meaning your wedding party and some guests can also spend the night at Rookery Hall. Sharing highlights over breakfast the following morning is the perfect end to your wedding.
