Stately Homes although majestic are often full of dark wood and lack beauty by modern wedding standards. Standon Hall however has the traditional architectural and design aesthetics from it’s history alongside it’s vibrant modern interior decor which just helps all my wedding photography sing.

I feel the connection between a couple and their photographer is a really important factor hence why I wanted to show this part of my work as well. The History of Standon Hall
This grand old building has seen a lot over the years, and it’s got some fascinating stories to tell.
Standon Hall in Stafford was originally built in the early 20th century as a family home. It was designed with all the elegance and charm you’d expect from a stately home of that era, but the story doesn’t stop there. In the 1920s, Standon Hall took on a new role as an orthopaedic hospital and for almost 60 years, it provided care for patients, becoming a vital part of the community.
Fast forward to the 1980s, and Standon Hall transformed again, this time into a residential care home. It continued to serve the community in this capacity until it was eventually left vacant in 2016.
Today, Standon Hall has found a new lease of life and is now well known as a wedding venue, offering couples a unique and historic setting for their special day.

So when it comes to weddings I can’t help but get wrapped up in the magic of your day. Getting so stuck in with your wedding allows me to translate so much more feeling into my photographs. At some point, you’ll want a few awesome photographs of the two of you. These photographs will take minutes and not hours so we can get straight back to the party. Oh and those family formal portraits, don’t worry about them, they’ll be zero hassle.
